Hello Jam Fans! Got a plan?

Welcome to the Jams application for IMPRO Amsterdam 2025! If you have an idea for a jam that’s unique, fun, and gets a lot of people on stage, you’re in the right place.

This year’s festival will run from 15 to 22 February 2025 in Amsterdam Noord, centered around 't Zonnehuis (Zonneplein 30, 1033 EK Amsterdam).

What’s a jam? It’s a structured opportunity for festival participants to get onstage and play, regardless of experience. Jams are hugely important for the festival community — they allow people to get on stage, play with other improvisers they may otherwise have never met, try new things, and support each other.

What are we looking for?

At IMPRO Amsterdam 2025 we will have three jams, and we’d love to have them each be different, surprising, and delightful. Some examples from last year were the BizCo Business Jam, Mixionary (pictionary with scenes), and What Would You Like To Do? (where participants chose their own games or scenes with guidance from a host).

Our biggest criteria for selection are:

• Fun (Will this get the audience involved and excited to participate?)
• Safety (Is there to help maintain the physical and emotional safety of participants?)
• Creativity (What makes this jam unique and playful?)
• Structure (Has the jam been enough to control the chaos and sustain itself for 45 minutes?)

What’s in it for you?

If your jam concept is selected, the festival offers:

• One 45 minute jam in the Blauwezaal (100 seats), hosted by you.
• The possibility of a meal the night of the performance
• 20% off any workshop you want to purchase
• Free ticket for the night of your show + one free ticket for another show at the fest
• The opportunity to meet and work with a phenomenal community of improvisers from around the world.

If selected, your show can be scheduled any day from 15 to 22 February 2025, so please your availability before submitting!

Deadline to apply

The form to apply will be open until 30 September, 2024.

We will let you know whether or not you have been selected before the end of October.

What if I want to do something else in the festival too?

You can also apply for other roles in the festival — all applications have the same deadline:

• Performing with an Established Group — for troupes looking to perform a practiced, mainstage ready format
• Performing a New Format  — for fresh or seasoned improvisers wanting to try out something new
• Teaching workshops — for improv teachers looking to share what they know (all lengths, any topic)
• Directing a show for the IMPRO Amsterdam Cast — for those with a great show idea who’d like to bring it to life with our Cast

What do we need from you?

Pretty much what you’d expect — some information about you for our marketing, contact info, and a pitch for your jam.

Your email and phone numbers will not be communicated to anyone other than festival organizers and your members.
